Assumptions: 120 trees per acre on trifoliate rootstock with micro-sprinkler irrigation. Establishment $4,500 per acre in year 1, growing costs ramp from $1,500 to $2,750 per acre, harvest labor $0.15 per lb, equipment bought once in year 1 and sized to the orchard. Wholesale prices are the reported Florida–Georgia range ($0.55–0.76 delivered). The optimistic case assumes a top site, excellent management, and a firm market; it is a ceiling, not a plan. Direct price is net to you after boxes, market fees, and your selling time; a $2.00 sticker price is roughly $1.50 here. Freeze option: zero crop in year 4, 30% of trees replanted ($700 per acre), survivors lose 25% of the year-5 crop, replants follow the normal yield curve from their own year 1.
